Gaming TODO List

When I was 16 my family bought our very first computer, a 368!! The computer came with a few games like Duke Nukem, Commander Keen, Dangerous Dave, and Kens Labyrinth.

It was that hand-me-down computer that started my love of video games. I would sneak into the study in the middle of the night boot up the PC and spend hours playing much to the detriment of my studies. At the time I was mostly into FPS games and the Quake series took over my life for many a year, anything iD Software and I'd be satisfied.

Looking back now, my gaming obsession has actually helped me get where I am today. I learnt during those years how to program in C/PHP/SQL/PERL, how to build and host my own website, how to build a community and a lot of the foundation skills that still serve me well today.

These days I have less time for gaming, but the advent of downloadable game services like Steam have allowed me to snap up many of the games I've always wanted to play but never could afford. Now this brings be to " The List "...

The List

The following is a list of video games that I own on PC, 360 & 3DS. Every game on this list I have played from anywhere between 5 minutes to 5 hours but NEVER FINISHED.

My aim is to start playing through these games and actually finishing them. Now this is not a challenge where I will set any form of time limit, I expect that it's going to take me a very long time to finish everything on this list, and I'm sure it will start expanding as games go on sale and can be picked up cheaply. 

When I finish a game I will cross it off the list any maybe share a few words about my experiences.

The First Templar (3.5/5) - Finished 23/11/2011

I really enjoyed this game, I'm a huge fan of the Templar's story and mythology and this game did not disappoint. I felt the story & the combat did drag on a little towards the end, but for most of the experience I was engrossed! Pity they are not releasing a sequel.

Mass Effect (4/5)  - Finished 21/06/2011

What a great game, loved everything expect for the bloody Mako. Amazing story, voice acting and exciting combat. Some tough moral decisions as well, I wonder if there are multiple endings.

Modern Warfare 3 - Single Player Campaign (5/5)   - Finished 8/11/2011

Best action oriented FPS I've ever played. Kinda short at 5 hours but a non stop explosive thrill ride. Possibly the best game of 2011 (We shall see how Skyrim is). Really looking forward to getting into some online multiplayer, but personally I enjoyed the MW3 campaign more than any other Call of Duty game yet! Can't wait to see what comes next!
