The one thing I really like about Mixcraft is the instrument / preset bowser; the one thing constantly gave me the shits was that 3rd party instrument patches we're never included in the preset library.

Each time you wanted to change a patch for MinimogueVA or Alien 303 you would have to click the preset drop-down and select the new patch; selecting a patch takes the focus on the Musical Keyboard which meant that you needed to click back onto it to play the new sound. A huge workflow killer!

I've come up with a nifty solution; I found where the Mixcraft Instrument Presets were stored, created a few new folders for the 3rd Party synths then went back into Mixcraft and saved each of the synth presets as Mixcraft Instrument Presets.

As you can see all the presets for the MinimougeVA are now available inside of the instrument browser. At the moment I've only made presets for the 3 Synths you see above (MinimougeVA, Lounge Lizard and Alien 303), I'll finish of the rest of them tomorrow.

You can download the preset files here, now for the installation instructions.

Find your Mixcraft Instrument Presets folder. (It's usually located in your Application Data directory) On widows 7 it's located here:

Extract the files and folders into the directory.

Open up Mixcraft and you'll now find the presets available for easy access.

Enjoy!

I hope that help a few people out who really like having things organised in one place. I have the presets done for Impulse, VB3 and Messiah tomorrow.

If you have any questions post them in the comments, I'll do my best to help you out.
